Alberta Main Street Sculptural Art Seats

Folded steel ribbons, painted in bright colors, brings a spark to the sidewalks of Alberta Main Street in NE Portland.
Propel Studio volunteered to design a series of public seating for the Alberta Main Street organization as a probono project in conjunction with their design committee. Funded through a community grant from Prosper Portland, these seats were meant to liven up the street, act a public art installations, and give pedestrians a place to sit as they shop at the many small businesses in the neighborhood. Each installation offers a different folder profile, giving a range of seating options while making each installation unique. The bright colors are meant to stand out from the visual noise of the urban environment.
