XOXO Festival
The 2014 XOXO Festival was “an experimental festival celebrating independently-produced art and technology”.
The festival program offered the opportunity for independent creators from around the world to gather for a weekend event including talks, music events, and game play. This 1000 person community event included leaders in music, art, design and technology. The theme for the 2014 XOXO Festival was related to the challenges of being an independent artist, specifically conflict, disruption, and failure – all obstacles along the path of creativity. Propel Studio’s fractured design for the interior stage, lighting effects, and outdoor registration, bar, and shade kiosks were a response to this theme, which informed the fractured geometry of the installations.
